This is a book just coming out now, after being rejected by publishers in the 1930s.
Written by an African American woman anthropologist in the 1920s, it contains her interviews with the last surviving African slave from the last slave ship (The Clotilda) from Africa to America... his capture in Africa, arrival in Alabama in 1860, and subsequent life experiences as both a slave and a free man.
