Minstrel Banjo

For enthusiasts of early banjo

From the Buckley 1868. Carl always plays this one really well...inspired me to try it. Quick leaps...gotta be dead on-or get a fretted.

This is an interesting piece, originally written in 1839 as a military band march by John Holloway. Clarke Buehling plays this one quite a bit.

O yea, that makes sense, that it is an arrangement. It is only listed "James Buckley", so I guess it was his arrangement. Marches, waltzes, and polkas were a step away from the planatation songs in adding to the early banjo repertoire, weren't they?
