Minstrel Banjo

1883 by A. Baur. Man, I wonder if these were originally on fretless?? My feeling is they had evolved to a fretted play.

Yeah, that's kind of crazy for 1) a stroke style arrangement and 2) playing without frets!  But you make it sound great.

I contemplate tempos every time I play this stuff. This Minstrel banjo as an instrument, just has a mind of it's own. It is NOT a fiddle.

Thanks. It leaps and jumps to awkward spots....like quickly hitting the 6th position on the 4th string for a single note. NOT fretless friendly.
