For enthusiasts of early banjo
From Briggs' Banjo Instructor, 1855.
This one resurfaced the other day on the Tim Twiss Minstrel Banjo Shuffle Machine.
That right hand flicking is getting pretty quick. It pops up every now and then, doesn't it?
I did some slower versions also, but I like this one a little fast.
That move pretty much determines the ceiling on it, doesn't it. Can't go any faster than that lick. Pop Goes The Weasel is another one, and I think Yankee Doodle from Buckley....both stick those in...like musical speed bumps.
And Briggs' Breakdown... Of course if one were to sing Rosa Lee, it would sound better slow.
