Minstrel Banjo

For enthusiasts of early banjo

This comes from the Phil Rice Book of 1858. It is the banjo part for Picayune Butler, and seems to suffice as an interesting solo piece. Many others in the Rice Book (and Briggs' as well) are like that...good as accompaniments..and / or solos.

Tim, that is so nicely done! That arrangement kills me. What is even harder than playing it is trying to play it and sing it at the same time. I've pretty much given up on that.

Thanks John....doing those certainly takes time...either having one or the other (vocal or instrumental)totally nailed before trying the other part. Somehow the dissonance "fits' in a quirky sort of way. I still think there are misprints in many of these...cross reference the notes / fingerings /string indications. Often they are in conflict.

You make those triplets sound so good.
