Minstrel Banjo

For enthusiasts of early banjo

Changed from "Blindfold Test" to "Mystery Tune". This one comes from our first banjo "tutor" (NO- not the Briggs', but Gumbo Chaff...the one we don't talk about). It was a widely recognized and played song in the early Minstrel shows. This book is full of straight melody...before the idea of writing down a banjo arrangement ever happened. If this is not played in the correct spirit, let me know...I really don't know the tune. I've never heard a vocal rendition. Must have been a hoot! Must have been some European melody...IAN IAN....you are needed here.

We agree. Either A Home on the Ocean Wave, or a Life on the Ocean Wave. The Raging Canal is a completely different melody.
