Chuck, it was a treat playing music with you all week.

Just to explain why all the Gettysburg activity all of a sudden: I went with my family and some mess mates to G'burg for the week; Greg and Chuck live nearby and Tim wanted to come down also so wegot together for a few days. This wasn't an official "Banjo Gathering." Hopefully a real Banjo Gathering is going to happen some of these days.

Oh, and I must add with pride...my g-g grand uncles Harrison and Charles Bull of the 124th New York Volunteer Infantry Regiment fought on July 2nd on Houck's Ridge (right next to the Devil's Den) during the Battle of Gettysburg. They lost 82 out of 220 men present, including their Colonel, Augustus Van Horn Ellis.

Sure, sure. You guys decided to have your own gathering without us. We know where we stand. ;-)

Ya'll are having way too much fun there!

You guys are so inspiring! You thoroughly demolish my oft-repeated dictum that two banjos is one too many... (Though my bandmates might tell you that sometimes just one banjo is one too many.) Beautiful playing--and tune selection. Makes me happy to be alive here and now, to be able to watch and listen, that despite the misery and horror of history and of life that is at the ground and fabric of banjo, I can know those tunes because of you and help keep some of them alive! It is a great thing you are doing. It's hard to imagine a more important contribution to the continuation of the banjo in our time.
