It's always hard to judge relative volume in a video due to various factors, but that banjo sounds like a real cannon. I'd love to hear one with a skin head, I'll bet it would bring out some nice subtleties. Looks and sounds like a pretty nice instrument for under $400!

You're right. It should be done with a better microphone. The condensor mics tend to level them all out the same. I guess more than the sound, I was saying "hey...it's tunable, playable".
