I tried tuning mine to dDF#A when I first got my banjo uke with the same intentions. String were tight but I took it down but didn't have grasp on notes to figure out how to tune it within it's range. I'm gonna try the tuning you mentioned and try it out. I got my lil gourds for traveling but the banjo uke has frets so that's kinda nice at such a small scale. Love the way this came out tho, sounds pretty good on the uke.

Thanks Chris. Yeah I'm pleasantly surprised, tho there are limitations. Frets sure help with the short scale.
