Fandango
Similar to other Fandango arrangements of the time, Especially the version from Winner's New American School. I've chosen a slightly slower tempo for this one, especially with the inclusion of the 16th note phrases. Not a real strong piece, but it certainly demonstrates the effort to bring the banjo into a more classical fingerstyle approach.

That sounds great Tim! This tune has survived in 4/4 time as "Spanish Fandango" - and is played by guitar players in open G tuning. (just like a banjo!) I think a lot of people got it from Kirk McGee as well as Elizabeth Cotten via Mike Seeger. Norman Blake recorded it, and I think Leo Kottke took a run at it on one of his early lps. I like its meditative quality.
