Marking my return to Skin and Gut with this new instrument made by Jeff Kangas. Maple neck and pot are stained dark with aqua fortis and have been given a hand rubbed oil finish from a 19th century formula. Hand bent pot is 12 1/4 inches in diameter, 3 inches deep and 1/4 inch thick. Scooped neck measures 18 3/4 inches from nut to edge of pot and is 23 3/4 inches in overall length. Scale length is 25 - 26 inches depending where you place the bridge. Neck is 1 3/8 inches wide at the nut, 2 1/4 inches wide at the chanterelle, and 2 1/4 inches wide at body. Natural calfskin head, steel tension hoop and brass flesh hoop. 8 hand made brass hooks, nuts, and shield-shaped shoes. Rosewood pegs, nut and tailpiece. Tailpiece is tied on with real tail gut
