This is the Frank Converse version of the old 1840's tune "Boatman's Dance. One section is actually believed to have come from hearing the river boatmen singing, and the other part are verse created after the fact. Brilliant fingerings in this edition.

M4? That is 2 downstrokes in a row. Or are you talking about a different spot?

Yea, just brace the finger with the thumb (a hammer stroke) and you can go pretty fast.
