I love your Back o' the Buckley work! This tune sounds a lot like "The Silver Spire" to me. Here's Paddy Killoran (the second tune in the medley): http://www.archive.org/details/PaddyKilloranFarrelOGaraTheSilverSpire

Good ear Jim! "The Silver Spire" is also called "The Great Eastern" and is in Ryan's Mammoth Collection (aka Cole's 1000 Fiddle Tunes) under that name. It's credited there to Clem Titus. Clem seems to have been a minstrel performer. I found a reference to a "Clem Titus' Jig" in the Emmett manuscript. Tim? The Great Eastern was the ship that laid the first transatlantic telegraph cable in the 1860s. It's a popular tune up here in Ontario.

"Clem Titus Jig" IS "Japanese Tommy"...Ha!
Thanks guys. I didn't catch that one...or "The Great Eastern" reference. Let me know if you find ""Dutchman's Corner" anywhere.

The Clem/Tommy thing is quite the circle of co-incidence - though not one you can really share around the water cooler at work. The Dutchman definitely doesn't ring any bells for me. Neat tune though. I think you're right about the typo.
