2 Selections from Page 16 of Buckley 1860.

Here is "Lincolnshire Jig", which is "Off To California" (composition credited to Leavitt) complete with the mysterious fading dotted rhythms, and "Solo Variations on Positions" (thumb and all...check the fingerings) with the ascending figure on the second string. Why these 2 pieces would appear in the beginning of a Method Book is beyond my understanding. Is there another name/source for "Off To California"?
