Minstrel Banjo

For enthusiasts of early banjo

Okay, people, last call for our Thursday the 23rd pre-event in Elmira, Ny.  Joel Hooks, Aurelia Perry, Kyle Pretzl and myself will hook up in Elmira to look for Frank Converse's ghost.  Actually, we have made several fascinating discoveries that will make our stay memorable.  Joel and Aurelia have found the original residences of the Converse and Maxwell families, and the houses still stand, so that will be a treat.  Also, the 1837 Presbyterian Church where father Maxey Manning Converse died trying to save others still stands, and we will visit that. I am particularly excited about that.  What a perfect place to sing Charles Converse's timeless hymn, "What a Friend We Have in Jesus." I'm gettin' goosebumps just thinkin' about it...

Just take an extra day off and meet us in Elmira on the 23rd if you want to see the sights...

Wish I could join you for this - especially since the words to "What a Friend" were written by local mystic Joseph Scrivens near Peterborough, Ontario - wow what a connection! We'll be getting to the barn on Friday sometime.

Say hi to Frank & Mark for me!
