Thanks, Dan'l! The banjo is the least "period correct" instrument in our group. I bought it from our fiddle player, who bought it from a friend in Nebraska when he lived up there. I have no idea if it was from a kit of some kind or simply someone's interpretation of a Sweeney-like instrument. Bob's fiddle is a replica of a 1750-something violin, and Chuck's guitar is a Republic replica of an 1858 Martin. The guitar and banjo are both strung with nylgut. My style is far from proper minstrel style, but for a guy who has played bluegrass on a booming archtop for over 30 years, I think what I do is passable, particularly for someone who sings. You're obviously a man who knows photography. Wish I were more versed in the subject. A friend took these pictures and "aged" some of them. Anyway, we have a load of fun. We won't play anything written after 1865 when performing in the trio. I appreciate your comments, sir!
