Minstrel Banjo

For enthusiasts of early banjo

Me playing one of the Boucher banjos in the Smithsonian - the one with skin on both sides of the head. SO COOL! Sounded amazing.

If George does end up building one for you, you should get him to do it with the stencil work found on this Boucher: http://banjodatabase.org/ViewMoreImages.asp?ID=224&imgtype=unde...

I was just admiring the double head Bouchers on the database, and you're playing one of them.  Jealous.  Oh, so jealous.

Also by coincidence, Mrs. Silas wondered - today - if I'd be interested in some tickets to a show at the Seattle Zoo in a couple weeks by some group she's never heard of.  Someone cannot make the show and was unloading a pair of tickets within my kid's homeschool community.  When I heard who the group was, I said, "Get the tickets.  Now."  She got 'em.  So, please, play something minstrel.  A walkaround.  A jig.  A breakdown.  I don't care.  I'd be nice to hear an old minstrel standard in a new venue.  Blame it on That Devil Silas.
