Wow,  Great find Wes.

While having a publishing date of 1896, It really covers the transition period where banjo's were kind of mixed up world wide.  It has finger playing, plus some thimble (stroke) playing, both American and English notation, and even cover six and seven string banjo's.  Plus a plug for S.S. Stewart banjo's.

This is going to be interesting to go through, and even try a couple of pieces.

We sometimes overlook just how popular minstrel music and banjo's were worldwide.

I like his comment that "The seven string English Banjo having two extra Bass strings was used to some extent in England years ago, but has long since fallen into disuse...and at the present time its use is limited to the novice in Banjo playing or the "Ham" teacher."
