ebay banjo
This nice looking flush-fret banjo is for sale on eBay. The tailpiece says Pat. 1884. Can anyone offer an opinion as to what it is?

There is a very similar banjo for sale at Music Emporium which is attributed to Cubley (Chicago) 1880's. It doesn't have the more common Cubley peghead/hooks/nuts, etc. but may very well be an early format for Cubley.

Thanks for that! I looked up other images of Cubley and saw lots of similarities. They seem to have had plenty of variables.
