As a fiddle tune, the first one was published as "The Cliffs," "The Ruby," "Fred Wilson's" (after an English-born clogger) and "Higgins" (after fiddler Con Higgins) but not in this key.  Dobson's book has  tunes in A or E major that would be in F, G or D in fiddle settings. How did Dobson expect the banjo to be tuned?
