Minstrel Banjo

For enthusiasts of early banjo

The Boucher model from a Bell Banjos kit. Great fun to finish. More fun to play.

I sure like that color, Chris.

A beauty.  Gut strings??

They're the regular nylgut strings that were included with the kit. This was my first time dealing with violin-style pegs and nylgut, so I kept extra string around in case they broke at the tailpiece and to give me something to hold on to as I was breaking them in and they were slipping a little on the pegs. Now only laziness and a dollop of superstition has me keeping all that extra string wound up.
