African American banjo player near Petersburg, Virginia

This photo is from my personal collection. I think it just post-dates the Civil War. A pencil inscription on the back reads: "Old Slave Cabin on Raceland Farm near Reams, Va." Reams or Reams Station, Virginia was just south of Petersburg.
