Yes Tim,my videos are uploaded from my computer and my microphone is not the best in th world!I've been trying to figure out the best place to put the mic.Sometimes its on my leg but then it does not pick up the 5th string to well.I'll figure something out!

Tom, I've been fighting the same battle. I think I've got it figured out for the instrumental. What made a big difference is that I put the mic on a boom positioned so that it is facing the banjo, and behind the head (about a foot away). This worked out pretty well, and is not visible while recording. I also had some luck with the mic in front, just below the video frame, point up at the center of the banjo head.

Catching vocals is another issue and I am still working that one out with a single microphone. I've had surprising luck with a lapel mic a couple of times, but I don't own one, and was using it in another forum.
