Minstrel Banjo

For enthusiasts of early banjo

Hi gang,

Is anyone familiar with Minstrel Boy Banjo Works, Phoenix, Arizona?  The builder is named R. England. I have a banjo made by him that is pretty nice.  It has a thoroughly grandiose walnut  ogee neck with a scroll head. The tuners are standard violin pegs. It has a 12" calfskin head mounted to a very sporty pot, which is green on the outside and red on the inside, with 10 wing nut adjusted hooks. The brackets are sort of rough, and, while serviceable, look a bit makeshift.

I bought from Bernunzio's a while back and am curious about its origin.

Thanks for any info,

Jim
