Minstrel Banjo

For enthusiasts of early banjo

Is this song/tune familiar? In any of the tutors? I picked up sheet music at the Big Flea, yesterday. It was published in Baltimore (Benteen) and New Orleans (Mayo) in 1851. By John H. Hewitt, as sung by the New Orleans Serenaders. Pretty tacky lyric; but it contains elements (e.g. "He's gone to see the Elephant") found in some other songs, including Foster's "Uncle Ned," and I'm just idly curious. It has a verse/chorus structure, and the chorus is harmonized in four voices.
