Minstrel Banjo

For enthusiasts of early banjo

I have spent what I feel is a lot of time trying to tie a cravat in a manner that doesn't look a toddler tied it. Is the best way to tie a cravat to purchase a pre-tied one?

Any of you fancy dressed folks have any advice on a good cravat or go to knot. I have nice fat brown ribbon that I am trying to tie into a shoelace bow. I may need a longer one maybe.

I have a hefty beard so the darn thing is practically invisible but would like for the few times it pokes out to look like properly tied cravat. Or if everyone else cravats generally look like toddlers tied them, I ain't doing too bad.

Hey Chris, don't know if this is helpful or not. https://www.gentlemansemporium.com/how_to_tie_a_cravat.php
Yeah I saw that one and a few YouTube vids. I guess I just need to practice more. Maybe a longer cravat. Using a mirror is throwing me off too.
