Minstrel Banjo

For enthusiasts of early banjo

I just posted a few more tunes from Buckley's Banjo Guide of 1868. The 2 I just put up are "Jim Lee's Jig" and "Don't You Hear De Bulgine". They are not very difficult, but are rather interesting and kind of "acrobatic" with its movement and good use of the natural key of the banjo. They are great intermediate tunes, and not really played that much. Fun to do,as are many others in this book. I have a long list of favorites, and there are still a few I have not tried yet. It has so many great songs, including the Polkas and many of the Irish influenced pieces. The whole book is up in the Clubhouse. Perhaps it should be accessible here also? Beware of the lack of fingerings. The greatest stretch is the "Anvil Chorus". I did it once and posted it in the Clubhouse with backing tracks. I think it would be a weak solo, even if it is played well.
