Props to Joel Hooks, who found this connection.  Frank Converse and the Converse Shoe Company are indeed related.  Converse founder Marquis Mills Converse is Franks Converse's 3rd cousin.  This is because they have a common great-great-great grandfather.  Here's the breakdown:

Wouldn't it be a hoot if we all showed up at the upcoming AEBG with some kind of tacky old Converse sneakers?  We could have our group picture taken and highlight the sneakers with funny socks, or our period clothes, or any funny idea someone might have.

 

I'm sure if anyone doesn't have a pair of Converse sneakers a cheap pair could easily be gotten at a Goodwill or Salvation Army.
