Stephen Wade at Milwaukee Repertory Theatre

Just thought I'd mention that my friend Stephen Wade is winning rave reviews for his one man show, "The Beautiful Music All Around Us," at the Milwaukee Repertory Theatre (Stackner Cabaret) in Wisconsin (January 16th - March 15th).   His "cast of many" includes quite a few vintage banjos, including a fabulous 1850s minstrel fretless.  Steve's show combines banjo solos, songs, spoken word, vintage photographs, and commentary about his banjo mentors and his field research into the heretofore "anonymous" origins of more than a dozen songs collected throughout the American South by Alan Lomax and others in the 1930s.  His findings, published in his award-winning book "The Beautiful Music All Around Us,"  are simply astonishing.    Here's a link with some video snippets:  www.milwaukeerep.com/Tickets/.../The-Beautiful-Music-All-Around-Us/
