Hey folks, this is not strictly speaking an early banjo event, but given the importance of the bones to minstrel music there is some obvious crossover appeal. I know there are at least a couple of us early banjo types planning to go.
I'm not directly involved in organizing the event but will post updates as I get them.
From the Rhythm Bones Society web site:
Bones Fest XVII will be held in the Heart of New England - Leominster, MA on August 9-11, 2013. Our Host will be Executive Director, Steve Brown, who hosted the very successful Bones Fest V that introduce the Fest T-shirt idea that has continued with all subsequent Fests.
The City of Leominster is embracing us and we have committments to use City Hall for our Saturday night concert, and the possibility of a live feed over thier Cable Access Television, a first for a Bones Fest. Steve hopes that the site of our Friday and Saturday activities will be the Leominster Environmental Center, a lovely building on 20 or so acres about 5 minutes drive from the Fest hotel. A visit to the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston is planned to view the 'Bone Player' painting by William Sidney Mount.
