In memory of Bob Flesher.   Without him my journey into 19th c banjo might not have happened.

  Paul, I was unaware that Bob Flesher had passed. Fine fellow; I too was greatly influenced by him. I had spoke to him several times on the phone.  He was enthusiastically generous, to share his banjo knowledge.

Back in my early days of learning (or relearning) to play banjo, I stumbled upon his website.  I was immediately captivated by his playing.  I called him up and ordered his CDs and tab books - both the stroke style and the old-time stuff.  I worked on those tunes at least 6 hours a day, every day.  What a great time!
