If you check the first few pages of yellow converse book there is a diagram of the fret board and notes that work as a Rosetta Stone for transcribing to tab. I think that is good for three or four sharps which should cover lots of stuff in green book. I still haven't fully dove into the green book yet

I have the Early Minstrel banjo book, which also has a fret board diagram, thanks for all the help.

is your banjo tuned d / G / D / F# / A  ?

I think it might be but might be wrong haha. That's why I mentioned the one in the yellow book because it corresponds with the tuning used in the green book. I usually transcribe in the higher Rice tuning and play in Briggs tuning once I got it down pat. Tim necromanced a post with a Rosetta Stone as well which may be helpful not sure if the same one that's in his book tho.
