Old Jonny Boker

I do have a question for anyone to respond to.  I wrote a song about my gggrandfather being on the Sultana and his adventures would that be ok to do on a video or do I need to stick with the old songs, like Jonny Boker?  I attempted to do it in the old style.

Go for it. Old-Time music has some maritime disaster songs, and at least this one would be period accurate.

Yes, he survived, he was only 13 when he joined a Kent. Cav. reg.  the 4th.  was captured during the Atlanta Campaign on a raid for Love Joy station.  spent 9 months of "rest and relaxation at Andersonville, then was freed to travel from Andersonville to Vicksburg and board the Sultana. 

Curtis  I have been invited to play the song at the 150th Sultana get together in april.

I've seen pictures of the reunion of Sultana survivors, is he by in chance in any?
