I wish it was... It's a loaner from a friend of mine. It's a " Dexter" Bertolle English banjo, with new fretboard

Nice looking...never heard of a Dexter. Googled it, and interesting info on the maker. Images are fretted types,, was this one originally fretted before the fretboard was replaced?

Yes - originally fretted. I guess it was in pretty bad shape before he made it fretless.
