Minstrel Banjo

For enthusiasts of early banjo

Odd little banjo piece from "Phil. Rice's Method for the Banjo" (1858), by Buckley. Minstrel high bass tuning (dADF#A). Repro Boucher banjo built by Bell.

This one caught my attention while listening to Tim Twiss' complete Rice recordings (highly recommended, by the way).  Although I did play the exact notes from the score, I had to do my own thing with right hand fingerings, which has been discussed before on this site.

Nice. Has elements of Buckley's "Corn-husking Jig" in it.

Very interesting.  Now that you mention it, the 2 do share a lot!
