Minstrel Banjo

For enthusiasts of early banjo

I went to Grand Tower Illinois to play by the Mississippi River, although the song I am playing is about a boat going down the Ohio river. Grand Tower began as a mining town in the 1850s. Grand Tower got it's name from a big rock that sticks out of the river on the Missouri side of the river, it is today called Tower Rock, in the 1850s the rock was called The Grand Tower. This was on the levee separating the town from the river.
