Minstrel Banjo

For enthusiasts of early banjo

This tune was an important part of early American music...c. 1830's. It's content and construction were an influence upon Minstrel tunes to come, with its floating verses, animal imagery, and references to river life.

Thanks Tim.   When I get my banjo I will see what I can do with it.

Tim would you happen to have this in one of your books, with tab I would love to learn it.  I just received by banjo yesterday and still having problems keeping it tuned.  But I would be interested in playing this song, and tab would really help.  by the way I got a copy of your CD with my Banjo.

No I don't. I took it from sheet music and made a head arrangement. Are you going to sing it?

No but I have a singer that is.  I have figured out a bit of it, but it looks like you are playing more than two cords the G and D, are you also playing a C?  Anyway thanks for taking the time to get back with me.  By the way the tuning problems seems much better.  Also I am having a period coffin case made from instructions.
