Nice versions. I've always had an interest in gold rush songs! Perhaps you can tell me the origin of "What Was Your Name in the States"......and are there any more verses than the single one I've always heard. I've bookmarked your website!
Thanks! That song has always struck me as a clever rhyme more than an actual song. So...bottom line...I don't know of any more to it. Gold rush songs are rarely so bluntly honest. They are generally subtle social commentaries--well couched because it was the height of the Victorian era.
