You probably recognize this as the well known Irish slip jig of that same title. Howe has a version in "1000 Jigs and Reels..." from 1867  that as far as I can tell is identical to this, he also published a 9/8 setting a few pages later.

Much of our banjo repertoire IS a direct lift from the fiddle repertoire...this being a great example.
