Nice book, got mine just before Christmas.
Thanks. Had time to play anything out of it?
yes, I was having trouble with parts of Jonny Boker, And because you have the words under the tabs, I was able to pick it up. Lot of very good information in is as well. It's interesting that your version differs somewhat from the two versions in yours so I have sort of put them all together taking bits from each. sort of a scrambled eggs approach to say the least.
The different versions were designed so that one could be a Briggs' like version and the other an "as is" melodic version straight from the sheet music. What is really interesting is that when I did my tab version from the original sheet music, I deliberately did not reference Briggs' version, just to see how what I came up with would compare - then I checked Briggs' version and they were 99% exactly the same. Indeed, Briggs could have even been using the sheet music when he came up with his banjo version.
BTW, you don't have to scramble them together - just play the version you like best.
Will I be getting information about the event in May?
