Very exciting to see this .. The tuners are really close to the ones on my #1 style Ashborn guitar from 1854 Simple mahagany model .. The original tuners are the most exact tuners I have ever used .. These tuner keys are very good .. I like the slotted head as well .. Great job ..
Nice. Mike...are you coming to AEBG this year? Do you have any of your fretted Ashborns?
That guitar looks just like mine .. I would love to try an Ashborn style abnjo with frets ! The tone of David Oakes's Ahborn banjo that I have been lent is just amazing ..
Guy and Tim,
I do not know if Mike will see this post but I will mention it to him.
He is currently engaged in building guitars.
If I make it to Sharpsburg I will have several of his instruments with me.
I love James Ashborn's instruments. I have managed to acquire several of his guitars but Mark Weems is the one who plays them most often.
Ashborn's use of different woods and veneers are just incredable.. His joinery is very inspiring .. I want to hear his maple bodied model and I have tried a #6 and that was amazing ...
