Minstrel Banjo

For enthusiasts of early banjo

For some reason this didn't upload with the other pictures. The Kerr's books all still look more-or-less they way they have always looked. This is my 3rd copy of the first volume. (I keep giving them away to new players) You can see how "loved" it has been. There are four in the set.

In searching for info on Kerr's, I found this oddity.  Maybe I just haven't been around much but I've never seen this instrument before.  Kind of a cross between an organ and bagpipes playing tunes from Kerr's.

Ha..good find Al. I bet that thing is either really cheap...or very expensive.

If nothing else, it's a keyboard instrument that could be easily taken to a festival or gathering.

Oh, I missed seeing the tube he used for the air flow. Yes, I am familiar with those.

My wife used to play for Scottish country dancing, Kerr's along with Kohler's Violin Repository were the go to books for tunes. Here's some vintage Scottish tunes available as free downloads.
