Minstrel Banjo

For enthusiasts of early banjo

This tune sure got around. This version is from an 1880s Glasgow tunebook "Kerr's Fourth Merry Melodies For The Violin". It also turns up in one of (English author) Thomas Hardy's personal tunebooks. A great "period" arrangement of that version can be heard on the CD "Under The Greenwood Tree" by The Mellstock Band. You can listen to a bit of it on E-Music. There are a couple of other American tunes on the same page with it.
