Dan'l, these look like novelty instruments from the cheesebox/grain measure days but they are serious plunkin' machines!! The cool part is the bucket as a rim, but inside I glue a maple ring down and make the edges thin, making maximum use of the top area of the skin. This is actually a resonator banjo. The volume is like others in your lap but kicks it OUT toward the audience. AND there's a great 'tight & bouncy' feel you get in your right hand like you get playing clawhammer or minstrel style on a modern metal resonator banjo BUT this baby has the string spacing and scale length plus the guts to produce that LUVlee 1800's sound. People that come in go googoo over the chocolatey walnut which I hit with oil and shellac. The tailpiece is a curiously hard piece of something I had lying around here. It's hard. I made sparks when cutting it!!

Great looking banjo! Is the pot measured in inches or quarts?

Dan'l, a fellow from Texas ordered this to his specs and peghead design.
