Minstrel Banjo

For enthusiasts of early banjo

This beautiful straight grained Ash is from the last of Michigan Ash trees, selected for me, cut and kiln dried. Then I trim them, steam them, bend and bake them. This is a photo of the 'lap joint' being glued. Then I sand them down until the seam is virtually invisible. These sound great. I thought I'd show them off. When the ash is gone in about a year, I'll be going back to red oak.
