Ray, don't they have a lot of civil war re-enactments in the UK. You could get a minstrel banjo group going there and then invite all of us!
Camping is not a problem if it is done period style. If there is enough interest, I can get us some modern camping at the NPS site about 2 mile away. the cost will be included in the event registration.

On another note, I have contacted the state arts council and they will likely be involved in helping to broaden the audience.

The date has been sent to the NPS and is not on the Museum calendar so we are set to go!
I'm new to this site and have been playing stroke-style banjo for about two years -- I'm very interested in attending this event, as I have truly enjoyed the You Tube postings for earlier EBGs. Its a heckuva long drive from the Chicago area, but I'd like an invite (if necessary), or am quite willing to intrude....I've always enjoyed Antietam/Sharpsburg in work that we in the old Mudsills did at the park. I'd love to be able to hang-out with you guys for a couple of days and learn a thing or…

Joel, as for sleeping arrangements, you can get a hotel if you want, but many of us just throw down a bedroll the in the Pry House barn where the event takes place, it's quite spacious and rustic and the price is right. As for transportation, I'm sure you could get a ride from the airport. I think I'll drive in this year so if anybody wants to hitch a ride from the midwest lemme know. As to getting your banjo delivered, you could UPS it to a "local" if you don't trust the airlines. No problem…

Thanks for doing this, George. We all know what this means to the early banjo community. We have some new faces here, I hope that they realize what a fantastic opportunity this is for lovers of the early stroke-style.
