Minstrel Banjo

For enthusiasts of early banjo

Did anyone see the wonderful 19th century painting that turned up on the Antiques Roadshow this week?  It's called "Dancing for Eels" and depicts two black men dancing to two musicians (one with banjo) at Catherine Wharf in lower Manhattan.   A real find!

Super cool! A real investment indeed! W.T. Lhamon writes about this in his book Raising Cain.

If there isn't already a banjo or fiddle tuned called "Dancing For Eels" - there oughta be!

We should all write one.

Everyone should come up with a tune with that title for AEBG IV in a 3 weeks! We can see which version sticks with the collective!
