DESCRIPTION:In 2010 I will be offering two gourd & tackhead banjo maki
 ng workshops! Arkansas and New York Locations.\n\nThese are one week i
 ntensive classes that walk you step by step through the process of mak
 ing a gourd or tackhead banjo. These classes fill fast and often by re
 peat students.. We have a lot of fun in these classes and get very eng
 aged in the detailed processes that come together to produce very refi
 ned and functional banjos. Each step is demonstrated in great detail s
 tarting with rough neck blanks and concluding in a very thorough over 
 view of set up work. I provide all materials to make your instrument.\
 n\n\n\nThe two venues for 2010 are:\n\n1. The Ozark Folk Center. Cours

 Manor is a 243-acre educational farm on Shelter Island, New York, 2.5 
 hours east of Manhattan. A former slave plantation, the property has a
 lso been a Native American hunting and fishing grounds, a bustling 18t
 h century farm, and the estate of a famous food chemist. Today the far
 m, reborn in 2009, hosts educational workshops, concerts, and events, 
 all of which explore the culture of food and place.\n\nDate: June 7-12
  2010 (Students may arrive on Sunday evening, June 6)\n\nAccomodations
 : Rooms in the Manor or camp sites available. Rates TBA. Motels/Inns a
