Tim, I sing only the common ones. Hehe

Josie, Dandy Jim, Dan, Glendy, Angelina, etc..

When I don't sing em, I fiddle em, .........don't fiddle too many of the faster minstrel tunes, but I does the shuffles real goood.

Bring the fiddle?

Yes, by all means, Terry, bring the fiddle!!   I don't have time to reintroduce myself to it, this time around.  Maybe I'll join you at Motor City 3!

I was hoping to attend...  But, of course, working OT again.   I would have loved set in and try to learn more about the Minstrel style of playing... I caught Terry at the Midland Folk Fest. this summer... and watched one of his banjo lessons...   Maybe next time.

It was a great day for the Motor City Gathering, in spite of the Tiger's loss (which we did not know about until later anyway). Brian, Al, and myself were joined by Terry Bell, his son Dan and friend Ryan. We had lots of banjos, percussion, concertina, wind instruments, fiddle, and a big tambo Terry made. We played a lot of tunes and had some good discussion about timing, tempos, and a million other topics. Also got a chance to play one of those fine Bell Boucher Banjos....really nice. Lots of punch, tone, balance, and is very pleasing to play and look at. It all wound up with chili and pie. Fun day..!
