I hope Jeff, Al, and Tim can join me at this workshop. We'll let the music do the talking then go find a pavillion or gazebo or big ole tree and play the afternoon away.

Aw, bummer of a day...conflict. Sorry.

Playing at the big Jackson Civil War Muster that day.

Maybe scoot up afterwards??

I'm glad to see a couple Michigander Minstrels thinking about Midland in August. It's a fun, small affair. They have 6 or 7 tents going all day Fri and Sat with workshops. Banjo, fiddle, hurdy gurdy, dulcimer, whistle etc.. A couple years ago  I started working in the Minstrel Banjo. All the clawhammer players I met there were really into it. I think if you play clawhammer you naturally want to hear older and older music. The enthusiasm proves it. I'm hoping to bring Danny and Ryan again this year and "turn 'em loose." I'm REALLY looking forward to using the 'workshop' as a meeting place for minstrel players then finding a spot to squat and jam the rest of the day.

Will attend unless something unusual happens - it's an hour or two away and chances to mix with clawhammer/minstrel folks are limited!

Awesome time with Bell & Son banjos and Mark.  Once again Terry WOW-ed them Claw-hammer players with the Civil War era and the who, what, where, why, and when... the claw-hammer banjo come around...  Then he when to the Claw-hammer teaching and made them drop there jaws with the thought of a banjo w/o knowing cords...  Mark showed his skill on the awesome, Bousher banjo, as I showed Terry and Mark the new technique of play slide minstrel banjo on a Stichter Banjo of Terry's.

Good times...

Wish I could have been there - conflicts at work and with home plans didn't let me out of the house in time....
